New members of all standards are alwayswelcomed at Maiden Erlegh Bowling ClubWhether you have played previously or wouldjust like to see if bowls is for you we will be pleased to see you.We can arrange for you to "have a go" and you'll only need some "flat soled" shoes (trainers are generally fine) . We have a few sets of bowls available and the coaches will help you not only choose the correct size but also give you some basic instructions on the green.We are pleased to offer Non-members up to 3 free taster sessions before they need to apply to join the club.
Please contact us if you are interested in joining or if you wish to try your hand at bowling.If you haven’t bowled before you may find the video on this link helpful as it is a good introduction to bowling basics.
CoachingWe have three qualified coaches whose contact details are posted on the Noticeboard in the Clubhouse or can be obtained from the Membership Secretary.During the season, and weather permitting, at least two of them usually will be at the club on Tuesdays between noon and 2pm to deliver an hour of coaching. Please contact them direct if you are interested and they will give you any other relevant information.
Clothing & EquipmentOnly "Flat soles" are allowed on the green.Should you choose to join, there is a Dress Code but this is relaxed for certain events during the first year of membership.There are places to buy bowling equipment in the Reading area.
SubscriptionsThere is a one-off joining fee of £15. We offer a range of Membership Fees for 2017 from Social to Full player.Details will be available at the Open Days or contact the Membership Secretary
